I've been so excited about the new Alice movie! I actually had this planned from a long time ago, but was busy with other things and didn't get to make this till 2 days ago.
2 separate crocheted pieces. Both my own crochet designs as i went along. With the top hat, I wanted something stiffer so I used a small hook, size F. Took a long time to make, made it over 2 days of working for more than six hours each day. It was going to be all green, but didn't have enough yarn, so i added a gold stripe near the bottom, it ended up looking kinda bad so i covered it with a brown scarf.
The orange wig was made rather quickly out of yarn i bought specifically for this purpose. Basically it's a hat with yarn pieces hooked on the bottom half of it all around. Pretty bright orange, but i think it works.
Brilliant thing about this, since it's March I can also wear it if i want to be a leprachaun
Mad Hatter is copyright of Lewis Caroll and this version is more the new movie one, so Disney and Tim Burton too i guess.
The class is called Faeries and Demons and Sci-fi (with the two ands- Hoffmann is like that) it's a literature analysis of the original french fairy tales, the representations of hell and the mystical in both older and modern literature, and how this is all referenced in sci-fi.
It's sounds like a totally wacko class, But it has been the most helpful thing I've taken so far.

Thanks to Persona 4, whenever I drive through the fog, I look for people hanging dead from a telephone pole.

I'm required to see it for a class I'm taking, but have let my firends talk me into seeing the 3-D version, which will make me puke.
Oh well.
I think the hair is my favorite part of this- ORANGE FOR THE WIN!
